Sculpting With Light
The wonders created by light are often stunning but we sometimes take their beauty for granted. Light engages us with its glow of spectral energy emanating from twinkling, radiant stars. Sometimes it captivates us with blinding reflections bouncing off polished surfaces. It also delights us with refractions as water droplets break into a thousand rainbow colours. Light is magical and I attempt to recreate its beauty in glowing lightboxes, luminous coloured prints, water sculptures and other three dimensional art forms with light emitting diodes. Light appears in many unique forms but there is nothing like feeling the warm rays of the sun and modeling the soft mellow shadows it creates with pencil or paint: "The windows of my soul, I throw wide open to the sun".
