Artist Statement
There is much to celebrate in life! With "Jazz and the Familiar", I pay tribute to the music, musicians, and dance moves that inspire me. In addition, I glamourise friends and family members in a fashion I imagine them if they were celebrities. The connection between the public and private/"familiar" subjects is my adoration for them and the emphasis of their vibrancy, vitality, and impact on me.
